Spirit of Christmas 2008
The Rhome Spirit of Christmas gave 38 children in the Rhome area gifts which they requested on their "wish lists." The families of the children also received boxes of food including hams, canned goods, and homemade cookies. The presentation was made on Sunday, December 21st, between 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Rhome United Methodist Church. When necessary, some gifts were delivered to the homes by members of the church.
The angels were made by members of the Rhome United Methodist Women and displayed at both Rhome banks: Wells Fargo and Woodhaven. Not only were all the angels adopted by people in this area, but enough money and canned goods were donated to provide the families with Christmas dinners.
Members of the Rhome United Methodist Women have sponsored the Rhome Spirit of Christmas each year with the help of Rhome City Hall. 2008 has been another successful year!!
